It has been a week or so since I stopped the full out veggie diet and I am still losing weight! Since the diet, I have lost another 5lbs. for a total of 11lbs. making my weight 179lbs. I have been sticking to eating fruits and veggies for snacks and trying to jog once a day. For my main courses, I have been eating smaller portions of the main dishes and loading up on the salad if I still feel like I need to eat more. Overall, it was a struggle to get me going but since I started, I have found it very easy to stick to it. I never realized that I do enjoy eating fruits and veggies and I think they taste better than loading up on chips and salsa, and the stomach feels better throughout the day! I have also have been going out drinking and having fun so the real big changes in my life have been jogging and changing my snacks to fruits! Just imagine if I cut out drinking and stuck to a diet! However, I am young so it is not the time to give up drinking. Maybe when I am 90 I will think about it...jk!
Well I have passed my two-week goal and after a hard weekend at the lake, I put on 2lbs. from day 11. Overall, right now I am about 6lbs. lighter than I was two weeks ago but more importantly I got started in the right direction. After coming back from the lake over the weekend, on Monday, I went back to my routine of jogging and eating healthy and I am proud of myself for doing this. Previous attempts at being healthy I would get sick or something, stop my routine for a couple of days, and never get back on track. This weekend I got off track but when I returned and checked my weight it made me want to immediately get back on target and get back to my routine. I am very glad I did this. This was the kick in the butt I needed to start me toward a healthier lifestyle.
It has been awhile since I last updated
this but do not worry folks I have stuck with the diet. I have been
eating fruits and vegetables as if I was a bunny. I feel like I am
totally adjusted to eating healthy foods and I do not miss eating unhealthy
foods. I can feel it in everyday life how much better I feel by just
eating a banana instead of a triple stack cheeseburger. I do not feel
bloated and feel like a need to crap after every meal! I only have three
more days left but I think that I can stick with it longer. I will probably
just add a little bigger dinner like a piece a pizza or something but still
throughout the day stay to just eating fruits and vegetables.
On the workout part, the no sleep weekend hampered me a
little bit but I jogged twice on Monday to try to make-up a little. I
have started jogging outside now because I picked up a little mp3 player
because before I only had a PSP and that is somewhat hard to jog outside
holding. I have jogged on 5 occasions during these past 6 days for about
twenty or so minutes each time.
I did break down and drink on Tuesday. My friend is in
Lawrence for a couple of weeks and he invited me to come hang out with
him. I always heard that Lawrence was a fun time so I decided to reward
myself for all my hard work and get wasted!
So far, I have lost around 7-8lbs. and I am very
surprised! I did not think I would see these types of results so fast but
it just shows how bad I was eating and how lazy I have been.
Well I have made it through my first two
days of my diet without cheating and I can say it is hard. I just been
eating fruits, veggies salads and I had some soup and even though I have been eating
regularly my stomach is not in love with me.
Every time I walk pass some snack foods I get this weird sensation
through my body and I really have to dig down deep inside of me to keep from
eating the snack foods. I can now see from actually thinking about
what I eat that I eat too many unhealthy foods. Normally I would be going to
the vending machines at work couple of times a shift and then to Wendy's but today,
I just had a couple of apples and drank some water. Then when I am at
home I would be snacking what seemed like every hour on the hour but now when I
feel like eating some snacks I have been eating grapes. Then for dinner,
I would have seconds and thirds but the last two days I have just been eating a
salad. What is weird is that I do not feel like I am hungry I just feel
like I need to eat something...which hopefully after these two weeks this
sensation will go away.
Also normally no one ever calls me but the last two days my
phone has been going off nonstop with people wanting me to go out and drink with
them...Jon, Brad, Matt, Kenny, and some Law School buddies have all called me
to go out! I have stayed strong and declined!
In the work out department, I did not work out on Monday but
I did do a nice 23-minute jog today! I was surprised that I lasted that
long since I have not jogged in awhile!
I want to jump start this process by going "cold turkey" by cutting out all my unhealthy habits for two weeks. I am hoping after forcing myself for two weeks to do this it will become second nature. Starting today, 6/9/08, and ending on 6/21/08 I am not going to consuming chips, candy, soda, alcohol and every other unhealthy thing out there and mainly I am going to be eating fruits, vegetables, salads and drinking water! I will also be trying to do at least 30 minutes of exercise daily, which could include jogging, shooting hoops, and swimming. I am going to be blogging about this whole process on this page for the two weeks because I hope it will scare me into sticking with it because I would hate after two days to be writing about how I gave up! Do not worry friends about me not drinking alcohol with you because I will be working a lot over these two weeks and would not have been able to go out drinking anyways!
